Tier 2 License achieved

Tier 2 License achieved - Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC

The club are delighted to announce the award of the FAW Tier 2 License.

After 3 years of hard work improving the ground and infrastructure the license has now been awarded, something that is mandatory to play in WLD1 for season 2018/19.

Work has included a disabled bay, 250 seats, emergency lighting and most recently pitch extension work.

In season 2019/20 the newly formed FAW Championship will see all teams in the second Tier needing to play from their own ground with the license in place.

Rumour has it clubs will be rewarded with further publicity, sponsorship and possibly see a highlights programme for all games shown on Sgorio in the newly formed set up.

Club chairman Mike Walsh stated' After a number of years of hard work off the field from all involved the club is proud to have now been granted the Tier 2 License and feel that the Old Road is up there with one of the best facilities outside the Welsh Premier League.'

A full list of the teams who have achieved and failed the criteria can be seen on the official FAW website here- http://www.faw.cymru/en/.
