Before Saturdays game against Airbus the club met caught up with new Reds manager Andy Dyer who takes charge of his first league match this Friday at Old Road against Llantwit Major-

Hi Andy, after a long few years away from management with your last being a stint at Port Talbot Town, what’s attracted you to get back into the game?

My passion for football management has never left me but other things have taken a priority in my life the last 5 - 6 years like growing my business at Macron and supporting my children with their football, however BFL has a big place in my heart and once speaking to all involved at the club and my family there was only going to be one outcome and timing just seems right to step back in.

As we all know you’ve been heavily involved in the academy system at the club, taking last seasons u16 side to the national championships final and inevitably winning it. Will we see many academy players implemented into the first team in the near future?

It is the clubs and mine, drive to promote as many from the academy into our first team as possible with all the tremendous work that is going on there, However these players will need to get to a level and always have to be able to improve on what we have in our first team environment.

Your first fixture is a tough away fixture away at Airbus, who are currently sat 2nd in the table in the Cymru North. Are you optimistic about getting a result this weekend?

We will always have a positive attitude to every game we approach but we understand how difficult the task will be, but we must believe we can get a result whoever we play.

You’ve inherited a very talented Briton Ferry Llansawel squad who are currently sat joint top in the JD Cymru South a generally tough division. What are your aims for the rest of the season?

My aims for the rest of the season is to build on all the hard work that has gone before me and try and get the club promoted into the Cymru Premier League.
