The Reds put on a five star show at Old Road on Tuesday evening to defeat neigbours Trefelin 5-0 in the JD Cymru South.

A first half blitz saw goals from Declan Horgan-Evans, Tom Walters, Tyler Brock and Kris Evans and a final second half goal from sub Josh Bull secured an impressive win.

Trefelin who are going through a period of transition started the game brightly and had a few efforts at goal but failed to test Rhys Wilson from each one, after the first ten minutes the Ferry took control and started playing some superb flowing football, this was rewarded with the opening goal coming from Declan Horgan-Evans after the left back started a move from defence playing a one-two with Keiran Williams before Tyler Brock was released down the left, he drove a low cross into the box to Jack Hurley and his deft touch set up Horgan-Evans who had continued his run to finish a sublime curling right foot shot past Calvacante for 1-0.

On 22 minutes the defecit was doubled, good work from Williams again saw him feed the ball to Tom Walters who then skipped inside past two defenders and sent a low drive from 20 yards that skewed under Calvacante for 2-0.

Only minutes later it was 3-0 with a poor back pass that allowed Walters to nip ahead of the young Trefelin keeper out wide, the Ferry number nine then found Tyler Brock who made no mistake with his left foot from six yards.

The Reds were now in full swing and enjoying the slick surface from the rain that had started at Old Road, the fourth shortly before half time came from Kris Evans' head from a Jack Hurley corner from close range.

HT- 4-0

The second half saw another dominant 45 minutes of possession from the Reds but in fairness to Trefelin they worked tiredlessly coupled with some superb saves from Calvacante kept the scoreline down until two subs Jasper Payne and Josh Bull combined for the fifth and final goal of the game.

The win sent the Reds top after two games with seven goals scored and no goals conceded, next up is the first away trip of the season on Friday away to Taffs Well.
