Briton Ferry Llansawel responded superbly after the two losses against leaders Swansea University with an emphatic 6-0 win at Cwmamman Utd.

A treble from Mark Jones (pictured) took the strikers tallyl to 26 for the season with two from in form midfielder Keiran Williams and one from Steve Davey completing the scoring.

The win consolidates the Reds position in third only four points off the students with Haverfordwest wedged in between three points ahead, with the two forementioned playimg each other twice in the remaining fixtures.

A fantastic run from mid-October returned 24 poiints with 8 consecutive wins that put the team top of Cymru South on Christmas Day, however two losses over the New Year period in the double header against Swans Uni saw them drop off top spot, the run also saw manager Carl Shaw and forward Mark Jones win double awards for manager and player of the month for October and November.

With Cwmamman making some impressive signings in the January window the game was always going to be a test but in fairness a fantastic team performance got the team back on track in what now could end up to be a title race based on current form.

Carl Shaw has seen his team play 20 of their 30 games and have 38 points with 12 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses and they now have five home games and five away games remaining starting this coming Friday with the local derby against fifth placed Afan Lido ko 7.30pm.

The club would like to thank the continued loyal support for both home and away games and hope that we can continue to grow our band of supporters for the run in betwen  now and May.

Also a huge thank you to all our club sponsors and volunteers who have supported us for the first half of the season.
