The Reds gained an invaluable three points at bottom placed Ton Pentre on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win.

The score line was somewhat flattering for the hosts with a number of chances created by the visitors on a difficult surface but their finishing was poor.

On the two occasions it werent though was an excellent bit of control followed by a turn and shot from Luke Jones in the first half to give his team the lead.

Ton came closest shortly before half time when a cross got caught in the wind to deceive Conah McFenton but the upright saved his blushes.

The second period saw Sawel ease any concerns with a great assist from the impressive Keiran Williams allowing the prolific Gareth Jones to beat the advancing goalkeeper with a deft lob for 2-0.

A solid defensive display from the Reds saw a man of the match display from returning defender Darius Waters but the clean sheet wasnt to be with a very late Leon Jacka free kick getting a consolation goals for the hosts.

The club would like to thank all its own teams and opponents for holding minutes silences at all games this week in memory of our ladies player Meg Jones who sadly passed away.

Next up is Afan Lido at the Old Road this Friday 7.30pm kick off.
