Goliath performance from young Reds - Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC

Mike Rutherfords put in what was surely the performance of the round to progress to the last 16 in the JD Welsh Youth Cup at STM Sports on Sunday.

After a number of injuries and late withdrawals the team travelled to Cardiff with a bare eleven to face their Welsh League opposition with what was definitely an uphill task from the off.

Spot on tactics, a hungry desire and a never say die attitude though saw two first half goals from Evan Williams and Luke Mildenhall give the team a 2-0 half time lead and stun their opponents.

In a second half performance that saw their Sports throw everything at them to get back in the game every player put in every ounce of effort to defend their lead and leave with their result of their season to date.

The win was rewarded with a mouthwatering away tie against Cardiff City youth at Treforest on Sunday November 19th for a place in the quarter finals up for grabs.

Attention is now back on the West Wales League S & R cup game at the Old Road this Sunday against unbeaten Killay, kick off 2pm.

M.O.M- The whole team- everyone was a winner and done the club proud!
