Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies travelled to Hengoed to face a tough game against Cascade on Sunday afternoon.
On a terrible playing surface, the whole team applied themselves well and came away with a convincing 5-2 victory.
BFL dominated the early exchanges and deservedly took the lead in the 10th minute when Niamh Terry attacked down the right before crossing for Lucy Powell to slot home for a 1-0 lead.
The hosts were level just 5 minutes later after a good move down the left and a very good finish.
The reds continued the get the better of the exchanges and should have extended their lead but the scores were kept level by an excellent display from the home keeper making saves from Renee Day, Carys Price and Powell.
In the 41st minute BFL did regain the lead though when a Powell shot was parried by the keeper with Price following up to slot home.

With the second half just 3 minutes old the referee gave what appeared to be a very soft penalty but luckily for the Ferry girls the penalty was fired over the crossbar.
The reds had several good chances to put the game to bed but efforts from Powell, Day and Megan Kearle were all off target when in good positions and the home keeper produced another good save from Terry.
Midway through the half BFL did extend the lead when Kearle played a good ball through to Day who kept her nerve to finish well for 3-1.
Two minutes later it was four following great work in central midfield from Kearle who found Luciana Linciano on the right who played the ball into Terry, she saw her shot well saved but Becca Rees followed up to score the rebound.
In the 79th minute Cascade scored a very good goal from a corner which was well headed home for 4-2 but it was the reds who completed the scoring in the 87th minute when Linciano placed her well struck effort inside the far post to give a final score of 5-2.
