Youngsters march on in style - Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC

Mike Rutherford's under 18's kept their untouched winning streak intact with an emphatic 14-1 league victory against Tumble at the Old Road on Sunday afternoon.

Four goals from both forwards Jamie Burns and Reuben Harris, two each from Luke Mildenhall and substitute Evan Williams and one each from Joe Steins and Daniel Roberts completed the rout with some superb football played on a very sticky Old Road surface.

Forward Burns started the afternoon off with a neat finish after some superb work out wide from winger Stiens.

It was 2-0 on 19 minutes after a great solo goal from top scorer Reuben Harris saw his mazy run ending in a composed finish.

On 27 minutes Burns set up strike partner Harris for 3-0 before the visitors pulled one back on half hour.

Five minutes later the reds extended their lead through the impressive Burns again.

On 40 minutes a Dan Llewelyn free kick wasn't cleared and Harris reacted quickest to complete his hat-trick.

The young striker wasn't finished though and he got his fourth of the first half after the visiting keeper spilled Burns' shot.

HT 6-1

In a similarly one sided second half further goals from Dan Roberts, two excellent finishes from sub Evan Williams, two from Luke Mildenhall a goal of the game from Joe Stiens and Jamie Burns getting his fourth finished an impressive day for the youngsters and their belief and skill coupled with the extensive hard work demanded from their manager is certainly starting to pay off.

Attention now turns to the massive test at professional outfit Cardiff City at the Vale Resort next Sunday in the third round of the FAW Youth Cup.
