Becca Rees (pic) took her tally to 7 in 2 games

Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies produced another excellent performance against local rivals Llangyfelach on Sunday afternoon.

Again, the reds started well and took the lead after 6 minutes when Carys Wilkinson swept in a Lucy Powell corner.

They doubled the lead a minute later when Ela Roberts attacked down the right and crossed for Carys Price who made a great run across the keeper to finish at the near post for 2-0.

The reds continued to dominate forcing the home side to sit deep within their own half. Midway through the half Aimee Heath made a great run down the left and crossed for Becca Rees to finish well again at the near post.

Three minutes later Rees grabbed her second this time a long clearance from Ferry keeper Jess Garlick caught out the home defence and Rees slotted the ball past the outcoming keeper.

In the 31st minute it was 5-0 when Megan Kearle played the ball into Roberts who finished neatly.

The first half scoring was complete in the 41st minute when the home team cleared a corner to Kearle approximately 30 yards out and she hit a superb strike into the roof of the net to give the reds a 6-0 half time lead after a very impressive performance.

BFL started the second half where they left off and in the 47th minute Wilkinson carried the ball out of defence before playing a great ball into the path of Rees who completed her hat-trick for the second week running and took her tally to 7 goals in the first 2 games.

However a minute later the home team did get on the score sheet when Kearle was dispossessed on the edge of the box and Llangyfelach pulled one back through Bonnie Ridd.

The reds were soon back on the attack though and in the 63rd minute Rees crossed from the left for Price to grab her second of the game.

In the 69th minute it was 9-1 with another great strike from distance this time from Renee Day.

In the 75th minute the Llangyfelach keeper was unable to hold onto a great strike from Powell and Mel Thomas was the first to react to finish the rebound for 10-1.

With the game won the pace of the game died in the final 15 minutes as the rain came down but it was another good performance and 3 points for the reds who return to Old Road next Sunday for the visit of Aberystwyth Town.
