With pre-season underway manager Andy Dyer has confirmed 5 new signings in the opening week of the transfer window.
After the success of securing Cymru Premier status last season, Dyer has now started to mould his squad for the new season with a number of quality signings, most with top flight experience.
The first announcment saw the arrival of one of the Cymru Souths best young defenders in Connor Smith, the 20 year old ex-Penybont Academy product, excelled at Goytre Utd last season with a number of stand out appearances in a difficult season for the club.
Another defender who stands over 6ft and joins the Reds is Daniel Jefferies, with vast experience including spells at Swansea City, Colchester, Dundee and Penybont, Jefferies is still only 26 and is a great signing who adds physicality and experience at the top level.
Moving up the pitch, The Renewable Centre Stadium will welcome another player with vast experience in the Cymru Premier, Aberystwyth captain Jonathan Evans who has also enjoyed spells with Penrhyncoch will hopefully add energy and goals to the Reds attack, Evans can play as an attacking midfielder or forward and scored 10 goals in all competitions last year even though Aberystwyth were unfortunately relegated to Tier 2.
Another attacking player who many may have heard of is Marley Bishop-Wisdom, a former pro at Bristol City before playing in the top flight for Port Talbot the 28 year old then lit the Cymru South alight winning the league and top scorer when Swansea University won the league. After a move to England playing for Hounslow, Bishop-Wisdom will now be eager to make an impact again in the Cymru Premier.
Finally, the Reds welcome Barry Town forward Sam Snaith to Old Road, the 25 year old has scored goals at every club he has played including Llantwit Major, Penybont and Barry. Snaith adds a physical presence to the Reds front line and again is another player looking to find consistency in the Red jersey.
Supporters will get their first chance to watch the new look squad in action when they play their first friendly at Llandarcy against Ynysygerwn on Sunday July 6th at 12pm.
