Briton Ferry Construction extensive clearing of an unused section of land to the left of the away dugout is being developed into a new warm up area. Included in the new project is the construction of a retaining wall, minor tree pruning and complete levelling and landscaping of the area with an additional 50 tonnes of material being added to the original soil.
The aim of the project is to provide a warm up area for visiting teams so that hopefully over the season there will be less damage caused to the playing surface due to the nature of the warm up process. We hope this addition to the Old Road Ground will drastically reduce wear and tear and help maintain the playing surface of the football pitch.
A second warm up area is proposed to the right of the clubhouse but this is subject to project funds being available. The project is due to be completed in early September.
During the close season Briton Ferry Llansawel have undertook the development of a new match day warm up area adjacent to the main pitch.
