Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies produced a very good performance at Old Road on Sunday afternoon running out 6-2 winners against Caerphilly Castle.
The reds started quickly and took the lead in the 2nd minute following a really good move with Carys Wilkinson finishing well.
BFL continued to dominate the game with some really good passing moves but in the first half poor finishing prevented them from running away with the game.
Megan Kearle, Wilkinson and Becca Rees on two occasions went close to doubling the lead but were not quite able to hit the back of the net. I
t took until the 34th minute for the second goal which again was scored by Wilkinson following some great work down the right by Ela Roberts.
Two minutes before half time the reds got a deserved third goal with Wilkinson grabbing her hat-trick following a good move involving Lucy Powell and Kearle.

BFL continued their dominance at the start of the second half with Wilkinson & Powell going close before the fourth goal came in the 55th minute with Powell providing the cross for Kearle to finish.
Caerphilly’s first real chance of the game came in the 61st minute but impressive BFL captain Sophie Cardy made a great block to when the striker looked set to score.
Substitute Carys Price then went close on a few occasions before Caerphilly did get on the scoresheet in the 70th minute following a good move and finish down the left.
The reds went to sleep for a short while and 3 minutes later Caerphilly grabbed a second this time with a move down the right.
However, the BFL girls regained their composure and finished the game well.
In the 79th minute a great cross from Kearle from the right was powerfully headed home by Rees who added another in the 84th minute when she was first to react to the rebound after an Aimee Heath free kick was well saved by the visiting keeper.

Star Player: Anya Welch – Anya produced a great performance for the second week running in the holding midfield role. As well as shielding the back four she showed great discipline and passing ability to allow the attacking players in front of her to express themselves.
